The taste is top when you grow them yourself
Sweet Potato Hawaiian or aka Okinawan is a tuber vegetable high in vitamins A B C E, fibre and 150 times more antioxidants than blueberries. Sweet potato variety with purple/lilac flesh and light skin, has a slightly sweet taste with creamy texture. Tubers suited to bake, boil, fry, roast, steaming and grilling, young leaves can be used as a spinach substitute. Harvest time approx 16 to 25 wks, when leaves turn yellow.
Frost sensitive.
Cultivate well draining soil with compost before planting. Mound soil around plant regularly. Water
in well at planting. Keep moist but not wet.
